Biography:

It’s the old double-edged sword theory: being a singer-songwriter from Bridgeport, CT.

It’s where Grammy award winner John Mayer calls home and where countless other artists look to step out of that enormous shadow to begin their journey towards super-stardom. So it comes to no surprise when singer-songwriter Jim Wolf, with
his blend of acoustic/pop-rock, is compared to thehometown hero. As a long-time fan, he’s honored and humbled by the comparisons. After all, not many people can say they were around when John Mayer rocked in his high school band, Villanova Junction. You see, Jim’s older brother, Rich Wolf, was the bassist for Villanova Junction. A teenage-Jim witnessed first hand the process of writing, playing, recording and promoting an album. “Tagging along during those years is what influenced me to play music,” remembers Jim.  “I learned that any story you have could be told in a good song.”

The evidence is in No Sleep What-so-ever, Jim’s full-length debut album, where he shares his stories with the world.  Self-released in September 2005, No Sleep captures those moments in time that each of us can relate to. Songs like “Lighthouse,” about a special person leaving before you get the chance to tell them how you feel, and “The Raincheck Man,” about an over-qualified guy who is consistently blown off, evoke those emotions that can only come from riding the roller coaster of life and love.

Awarestore.com connected with the album and featured “The Story of My Life” on the website’s recent compilation Ear Snacks Vol. 6.  Jim shares this accomplishment with artists such as John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Liz Phair, all past alumni of the Ear Snacks series. Looking towards the future, Jim is already in the process of recording his next album The Stars Never Lie, scheduled for release later this year.

He knows it’s a long and difficult road, but Jim is ready to show Bridgeport, CT and the rest of the world that there’s room for another hometown hero.
